Maria's Story
Hi. I am living in Mount Airy, only about a half hour away from Centennial, and we go back to that area often to either visit my brother and his family that live there or to watch our daughter's play soccer at Covenant Park.
I graduated from Villanova in 1987 with a degree in biology and went to work at Johns Hopkins. I enjoyed the work in the lab there but decided I did not want to make a career out of it. I then went to work at the American Physiological Society in Bethesda, which publishes scientific research journals. I worked on various journals there and then was very lucky to become the Journal Copy Editor for Physiological Reviews when my children were born. I edit the journal from my home office and go into the main offices once a week. It has been a great career that has allowed me to be home with my children all these years.

irls are so old already, and we are looking at colleges for Amy! Time has flown by! Both girls are serious soccer players, and it occupies a lot of our weekends. Lots of fun for Buddy and I though too, and we have made some wonderful friends. Our family has enjoyed traveling (favorites are California, Jamaica, Italy, and Germany) and love to hit the beach as often as possible. Bud and I steal time away for motorcycle adventures whenever we can!
My parents are retired and living in Westminster. It is so nice to have them nearby. My brother is married and has two awesome sons that will go to Centennial one day! I still get together with Jenny and Gail and their families as often as possible. I feel lucky to have such great friends for all these years!! I stayed in touch and got together with Kacey for many years but have lost her since she moved. Kacey, if you read this, please drop me an e-mail so I can find you again in your new home (my e-mail is still the same).
