Maria Oralia's Story
Life Part I
I've lived out of SA since I graduated from TECH. I attended Prairie View College, now a University, and graduated, in 1971, with a B.A. in Business.. I married, lived in several states and gave birth to 1 beautiful child, a daughter. I divorced and settled in Phoenix, AZ been here since 1979. I attended ASU and received a Master's in Education. I was a Kindergarten teacher for 25 years.
When I relax I like to go to antique shops, Retro stores, go dancing or to the movies.
My other love is singing. I started singing karaoke 18 years ago, then hosted Karaoke shows and ventured into performing locally. I love to sing R&B. I love to party and Birthdays! I love to celebrate LIFE!
Life Part 2
As June approaches I am getting excited about retirement, from teaching. I look forward to trips to SA more often, if gas and airfare prices don't keep rising sky high. This has been a great year for me, after performing locally for several years I decided to ent...Expand for more
er a singing competition. It was a great experience and I am considering doing another one. Don't know yet but I have lots of people encouraging me to continue down the path to Entrtainment.
My daughter has grown into a beautiful young woman and is following my footsteps as an educator. I have settled into married life quite nicely with my long time love.
I am looking forward to catching up with everyone in SA. They say that you have more time when you are retired. I hope that is true.
Life Part 3
Did I say I would have more time to relax after retirement. NOT True! I am keeping busy at home, substitute teaching and entertaining! It has been a wonderful life! I have been entertaining through out Phoenix & Arizona for the last 5 years. In April, 2019 I had a Total Knee Replacement which took a long time to heal. I haven't performed since then. Some of my jobs have cancelled since the Corona Virus Stay at Home started. Maybe I will be able to start again soon.
