Mariah's Story
In high school all my close friends knew that I could not wait to get out of Spokane. I was going out of state to college and didn't plan on coming back. Then life stepped in. I got sick and wasn't able to head off to school in August. I ended up at SCC and working full time for the state. I worked for 7 years for the state before deciding that I was going crazy. figure out when to leave and where to go. Life once more stepped in. I met my husband Lane and finally did move out of Spokane. I now live just North in Colbert. We had a son, Noah and I quit work to stay home and raise him. I would have to say that I am thankful everyday that I didn't get my wish. I think Spokane is a good place to raise a family and I am happy that I stayed. Hell, it's more fun to visit most places that it would be to live in them anyway.
