Marian Colleen's Story
Life:
I was Married for 10 1/2 years and I've been Divorced for 8 years; I'm currently entering 2 years in my relationship with a wonderful guy that even try's really hard to be a positive role modle to my children. My kids 3 boys & 1 girl... ages 17, 13, 9,and 7 1/2. Each unique and dealing with their own issues as do we all, weather it mental , physical, emotional or spiritual- we all have issues.
I'm a fulltime College student in Lindsborg, Ks. My Major is Social Work. I Recently lost my job due to my employers death in Aug, 2009 ... I'm still searching for employment.
My children and I live with my boy friend of 2 years, in the country outside of McPherson, Ks. And I spend as much time as possible with the kids we visit with family & friends when we are able to. While studying, being mom, a speacial someone to a great guy and sleep.
School
I don't know who inspired me most I remember coach thompson and Joe don willis in high school. Coach T.C. Varner in middle school(Ardmore, Ok).6th grade was Mr. Walsh (Las Vegas, Nv.)
Military
1989-1990 Okc. Ok Meps station I had my 1st plane ride to Atlanta, Ga. we rode the bus the rest of the way to Fort McClellan Al.outside Birmingham. after the 1st week of paper work, shots, pictures,ID cards fitness tests, & getting all of our gear.we were sent to a certain destination I went t...Expand for more
o do Physical fitness training( I had to learn to do a proper push up) Then I was shipped to Charlie Co. Female platoon. The other young women could really sing well and cadence never sounded so good. learning to march, clean, sleep standing up with your eyes open, I still don't know how I passed grenades (I can't throw well)Bivoack was ok--Cold & wet though. pugo sticks I enjoyed. Hiking/running in combat boots (I have permenent shin splints = lots of motrin) obstical course was ok, Reading Maps I failed, using a compass to. MRE's I will never forget. Nor My BRM training I could Ace the course during practice but I always failed by 1 pt when it counted. the gas chamber wasn't to bad it burned the lungs but I had teeth pulled and couldn't eat anything solid for a week.
Eventually before live fire I was transfered to Alfa Co. to start My BRM over again I failed. so while waiting for discharge ---The Army wouldn't let me try for a 3rd time.(Chapter 13...Not able to conform to military standards)I help inventory supplies, cleaning differnent areas Being a co. Gofer. I had CQ & Fire Gaurd alot. I hated having both back to back. I always looked forward to the few hrs of church services ...semi freedom. the Diet I was on I lost a lot of weight , caught the flu once & dehydration.
Wish I could do it again.
