Marie's Story
After graduation, I married the love of my life, Larry A. Davis, class of 68 in August. We have been happily married now for 42 years. We moved to College Station, Tx. where he was a junior at Texas A & M University. Larry took a part time job, running errands between classes with the School of Engineering while I worked with the Veterinary Hospital there. I took another job after awhile with the Engineering Dept. at the Annex, The Engineering Test Lab. After Larry graduated in Dec. 1971, he took a job with the Ingalls Feed Yard, in Ingalls, Kansas, which held 66,000 head of cattle. So, we moved to a little town named Cimmarron, Kansas. This town was two blocks long, talk about little! There I worked for a Chiropractor, the only town Doctor. Our first born child was born in Dodge City, Kansas, where we later moved to, and stayed until she was a year old. Her name is Lisa Marie Davis,Shelton. She is now 36 yrs. old with three beautiful girls of her own, making us the proud grandparents of Alexandria Marie...Expand for more
Davis, Jennifer Michelle Bennett, and Kyleah Miren Bennett. Larry was working with the Dodge City Sale Barn, managing it, a cattle sale. When we moved back to Texas, Ryan Curtis Davis was born in Houston. We worked for my dad who started his own business, a machine shop. We moved to Crockett, now we are still here, still working for dad and ourselves, as co owners, and Matthew Jared was born 10 years after Ryan. Ryan is now 32 yrs old. Ryan has two wonderful boys of his own, Corbin, and Tyler. Matthew, now 22, still lives at home with us. Mom stays at home, trying to keep up with all the traffic at the house. Grandkids, and kids, and hubby, keep her busy.
So, boring as my story is, We have enjoyed living here in this small town, although, I miss the malls and the great medical care in the big city. And, I am glad to be back here in Texas, the piney woods are so beautiful. Its nice to live in the country, where the pace is slow, and it only takes ten minutes to drive to work. Wish you were here too?
