Marie's Story
I graduated from Austin High at the age of 16 due to two double-promotions in grade school. (Funston.) After graduation, I worked as a Secretary in the Buying Offices at Montgomery Ward’s for three years. After, I worked closer to home as an Executive Secretary at Motorola for two more years. I was married to Ron Szostek for 50 years. I have three children: Ron, Jim, and Debbie. at Homer’s Furniture for six years until they went out of business. After, I went back to Harper for computer training and while there I was invited into Phi Theta Kappa and I won a scholastic scholarship for Roosevelt University. I graduated from Roosevelt, with honors, in 1996. From there I worked for Apple Vacations for twenty years before retiring. At Apple, I was a Hawaii specialist, and went to Hawaii twenty times. I traveled a lot going to the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Life is good.
