Mariechen's Story

Life My Spouse I was in Property Management in San Diego County where I met Ron (my husband). He became my trusted friend. Later, we started dating, and the rest is history. We moved to Phoenix, Az in 1991,where Ron owned a construction company specializing in Insurance claims. Due to Ron having ALS, we have moved to Dayton, OR in April of 2013. Ron is very happy here, and that is so important when dealing with this kind of illness. As of now, he has outlived the expectations of the specialists. The specialists have all expressed surprise that he is still around. In fact one emailed our GP to find out when the patient had passed on. He will get a feeding tube in Oct. and we hope that he won’t have to use it for months. Praise God for that blessing. He has acquired a 2nd wife, Jan, as a covenant wife making us polygnist (one husband and 2 or more wives, as in the old testament). She was my best friend and lost her husband of 39 years. We then moved her in with us. Scriptures tells young widows to marry and she and Ron fell in love, and so we researched throughout the scriptures in both Hebrew and Greek, asked 15 pastors of various churches to research it and everyone said that there was nothing in scriptures against it. But each also said that if he preached it from the pulpit, he would lose his congregation. Jan will be a great help in taking care of Ron as he gets worse. We are learning to work together in caring now for him and since he wants to be home when the time comes, this will be very important to him. We will be looking for a new home in several states: IN, KY, VA, TN, and ID. We will however spend several months on the road visiting the country as Ron wants to see the US before he goes. This is vital for him and will give him wonderful memories before he goes. We will be back in AZ during the last months in a home supplied by Mayo Clinic for dying patients. What a blessing!!!! We have moved to AZ . Ron is still walking, but with great pain. PTL that he is still able to do this. My Kids I have 3 children with 11 grandchildren here on earth, and a beautiful little grandda...Expand for more
ughter up in heaven. I love being a grandmother and spending time with all of them. Two families live in AZ with 7 of the kids and our oldest is in Indiana with the other 4 children. So I am back and forth across the country 3-4 times a year. With the 11 grandchildren, 6 girls and 5 boys, 2 sets of twins, fraternal with a set of boys and one of girls. Oldest and first grandson, Richard, is in his 2nd yr of college, Cheyenne (first granddaughter) is in 9th grade, Cassi is in 6th grade, twins Kiana and Kiara are in 5th grade, Connor is in 4rd grade, Carson is in kindergarten, and the twins Treston and Preston are 4 yrs old. And now Tomi, a beautiful little girl, was born in May 2014. My Pets I no longer raise Standard Poodles. Poodles are the best dogs, especially if you have allergies. They are the most intelligent of all breeds, very easy to train, and will love you absolutely. My dogs are all beloved pets. I was working with several breeders in our area to produce new colors in the standard poodle lines. Actually, we are reverting back to the colors of the 1800's and early 1900's. The colors were not solids but rather mix colors, similar to collies, springer spaniels, etc. In the 1920's, breeders started culling (killing) pups that had more than one color, and thus by breeding single color dogs to each other, the various color lines emerged. Our dogs are striking in color, black and white, silver and white, brown and white, and tuxedo. (And we also still have solids.) We refer to these multicolored purebred dogs as partipoodles. Currently I have only one partipoodle, a tuxedo male named Romeo. He lives up to his name and is a true lover. My Educational Life My higher education goals were realized between 1996 and 2000. Until 1996, I was too busy with homeschooling to continue my personal educational aspirations. I re-entered college and continued until I acquired a Bachelor's in Applied Management and my Master's in Education. (I am certified to teach math and science at the middle and high school level.) I keep my hand in the educational field by subbing (K-12) in the local schools.
