Marilyn's Story

Hi All-- I can't believe that it has been 50 years since graduation!! In my head I'm about 35 years old. I have worked some during the years, but mostly was home raising my 2 daughters and 1 son, Debra, Cynthia & Jim. During this time I lived in both Southern and Northern California. I really enjoy music and sang, for 8 years, in a very large choir (230 members) that performed about 25 concerts a year and traveled to several parts of the world. I also LOVE to travel!! Interior Decorating and Cooking are also major interests. Spring 2010, I currently am doing my genealogy on the computer in my spare time. Have about 5000 family names to organize. Also I'm volunteering 2 days a week. One of those days is spent volunteering in the Recover Room at the local hospital. Sept.- Oct. 2009 am currently remodeling my kitchen with 39 linar feet of granite counter tops and stainless steel appliance. Have painted the entire house and am re-tiling and re-carpeting the entire house.........now THIS makes me happy!!! ;) I also love to be with friends and family and miss not having any of my Children or Grandchildren in Utah, where I live. I now have 5 grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. For those of you who knew my Mom she passed away on 2 July 2008. My brother and I were with her as she went Home, she is now at peace and with the Lord. We had a very interesting trip to Southern California for Mom's burial at Rose Hills. (14 July 2008) She was 2 months shy of being 95. I have written in the past about my husband Rol and his Parkinson's Disease. He went home to be with Heavenly Father on 17 November 2009. He is also buried at Rose Hills, as will I one day. (Cheery thought) My brother Tom (class of '57 Tom Manning) and his wife, Grace, moved here (in St. George) to help with Mom's care. A wonderful thing to have some family near. They are now able to help me if there is a crisis. Tom and Grace and my son Ji...Expand for more
m were a wonderful support here in Utah and in California when Rol died. Daughter Debra in Irvine, CA hosted us at her home at the time of the funeral and had a wonderful meal for all the family afterwards. St. George is just 8 miles north of Arizona. So we will be living in warm climate during the cold months, can even play golf. I have had Breast Cancer and for the past 10.5 plus years have been in remission! I have been through several Surgeries (including reconstruction), Chemo Therapy and Radiation. I'm doing very well and am grateful for the techniques that have been developed to save Cancer patients lives. 22 July 2010, Latest up-date, am still in remission.......anyone who knew of my disability, dizziness and kidney failure due to improper medication after a severe infection during my reconstruction surgeries.....I now need to tell you that even tho a specialist on my injuries said that I would NEVER have balance again, I now have balance (kind of as of 2014) and just use a 4 pronged cane part time to get around. My Kidney specialist also recently did a complete blood work-up and my kidneys are completely normal!!! I thank the Lord for my recovery...... All of this health stuff sounds like a real drag, I really have had a good life...........good husband, good kids, super grandkids (mine are the best of course) much travel throughout the US and several foreign countries. I would like to do more traveling one day. Life is good! Would love to have anyone contact me that I knew at Lowell School , LHHS or FJC or who just wants to chat. 1 August 2015 Am remarried to a very kind man who shares my Faith. He was also widowed, and it is wonderful to share the later life years with a special person. Am looking forward to seeing you all at our 55th reunion in October. Most of us are now 73...I wil be in 9 days, and we don't what health issues are ahead, so let's get together in October. My best to all of you.

So what do you think?
Well...... I don't think that I get THAT angry. Haven't been really angry in a very long time, so don't know......🙁
