Life My Pets I had a red dobie named Brandy and two cats. On April 15, 2004, I had to have my Brandy put to sleep. She had been with me for 11 years & I miss her so much. She had been with me since I developed neuro-health problems & somehow she learned to take care of me, like tell me when it was time for medicine or to alert me when I started to black-out. She saved me from falling so many times but her heart was too weak to let her go on suffering. When her Dr. had to give her the shots, we sat in the floor beside her. All of techs & staff at pet hospital came in one by one to tell her good bye and to cry with me. She was loved by all and when I had to leave, there wasn't a dry eye in the whole hospital. I will always be grateful to the staff at Animal Hosp. at Narrows for their kindness, love and understanding toward me & Brandy. She was known as the loveable little red dobie. I just came back from USC where I saw another eye surgeon. (In Dec. I had surgery on Rt.eye to implant a lens. Three days later I had emer.surgery for Staph infection & I was blind). Since then I have been going to a "Retinal Vitreous Specialist" once a wk. then 2X wk. now every 3 wks.) Now Dr.wants to do 3rd surgery to remove debri from Staph that's on Retina. But has to be general anesthesia, minimum one hr.& use ventilator. My neurologist doesn't want me to have 3rd surgery at same hosp. because have been 4 cases of Staph same time I had 1st eye surg. So he sent me to USC, where I have now seen 3 Drs.((1st one(neuro-opthomologist)agreed needs to be done but last 2 were surgeons & they don't want to do surgery because of neuro problems,etc.)). Made it sound like they didn't want to clean up someone else's mess because I might sue them. I have no intent to sue anyone! Only reason the neurologist sent me to USC was he didn't want me to have another surgery at hosp. where I got Staph. So, I go back to neurologist in June & see what he says.
