Marilyn's Story
High School is a bit of a blur. It didn't start off well and I don't really remember much. Then I just sat back quietly and got through it all.
I went straight to work after H.S. Attended college part time. Wanted to be independent. Bought my first home (with my best friend and sister, Elaine) at age 23. I continued on a good career in retail for the next 12 years.
I met a boy, Opie from H.S. East, after school and after dating for about 9 years we married. I quit my retail career and became a full time mother of three (Karn is 13, Amber is 9 and Chand is 7). They are the loves of my life!
Now I am back at my career. Switching gears and got into Hospitality. Now a Director of Op...Expand for more
erations and love what I am doing.
Things are quiet now. We live in N.Y. (barely, it is right on top of N.J.). I do see some people from school (Jessica D., Yvonne T., Denise C. who happened to marry one of my husbands friends, but not too many.) Never see anyone from the neighborhood. That is my fault because I didn't go to their reunion last year. so they did good at keeping in touch, I just didn't.
If I could go back in time, I would have done things a lot differently. I would have worked harder and had more fun. I don't think I did either very well. I am happy with my life and I guess it doesn't matter how I got there, as long as I am here now!
