02.21.2024: retired finally from a long and rewarding career cited below. spending time these days painting, writing, musing about life, death, the pursuits of the haves and the have nots, wondering if (dare i say hoping?) what i have done in my life will matter after i've moved on to.... i would like to believe i will leave the world a better place for having been in it.... We have all grown into who we became in spite of or because of who we were when we last knew, or walked the same hallways as, each other. i wish everyone well, whether we knew or liked each other then- i have found myself to be infinitely more open-hearted as i move into the latter stages of my life. I don't really work for the Thurston County Sheriff's Office- but it wouldn't let me write what i really do, REAL TIME CSI- I work as the lead/senior death investigator for the County Coroner's Office for the last going-on 24 years. It's nothing like TV or the movies- it's much more profound. I have always had a fascination with death and dying, the afterlife, karma, past lives, etc. Worked for Hospice here in WA for several years before coming to the Coroner's Office. This has been a very fulfilling and challenging profession. I am able to be of enormous service to my community, help people understand what has happened to a loved one, assist oth...Expand for more
