Maril's Story

Oiiiiiii. Round four. 20 May 2024. Honestly. No one, no "thing " , could have possibly told me , gotten thru to my very thick head, how God-awful this selling/moving thing was gonna be, and, 2 weeks after entering new walls, still is. Boxes yet stacked. Many that were emptied have contents crammed wantonly into cupboards/mini closets, just to make room. Three of my four hens literally shredded by coyotes? Hawks? In the last 3 days. I now have the last , in the house, boarding with bunnies. One dog, all 7 lbs of her, disappeared for a night then day. I bawled like a baby when a close -by resident found her. Two days later, Sadie did it again. On a road where most folks drive 30-40 mph. Have since made her a jail in front yard. Moving truck hit the mailbox and it's post, which is totally askew. The main bathtub "looks" cool, but is useless. Prior owner signed he fixed leak, but now leaks elsewhere. I've never used it. Main bedroom shower is like a stand up coffin. Cannot bend arms enough to shave armpits in it, much less legs. Doorways into rooms super narrow/small. Had to move things via windows. Manufactured homes have titles, like cars. This ones title lost years ago. You would not believe the hassle that has caused, in realty world, treasurer office, DOL, DMV...hours of time and many trips. No internet. Though part of back boundary butts up against high school property, and neighbors have internet, because the house position 350 ft from road, and no one has lived here with any internet services since 2018, xfinity/comcast wanted me to contribute to some community set-up... and shell-out $10, 370, plus tax, upfront. I was so flabbergasted I couldn't even swear. Managed to croak-out "no thank you". So tmobile phone works fine. Going to learn to use my phone to pay bills. Paying bills was all I actually did on the net anyway. My home insurance carrier, for 37 years,... Nationwide, does not insure manufactured homes. So gotta find me insurance. I have yet to cook anything but eggs and bacon. Just found the box of shoes 4 days ago. Been wearing crocs. Have yet to find my cutting boards. Gave myself one single evening "off" of worrysville. Two nights ago. My dentist of the last 25 years, and o...Expand for more
ther local dentists, their staff, a local kids dance-teaching academy, local jazz group, put on a show every year, though had always been in December, with proceeds going towards free dental care at a union gospel mission in Olympia. The last 3 yrs?, show forgoed due to covid. This year, dang, if it wasn't on my birthday! So I went. It was hilarious, but powerfully realism moments, too. Actually couldn't have asked for a better couple hours of release. Yesterday, daughter Michelle, and her hubby, Mitch, brought over their 3 adult goats. (They just adopted 4 babies 2 days ago from a goat-rescue that is overwhelmed by rescues right now.) Anyway, the thought was that the 3 biggies would be natural, non-gas emissions, lawn mowers on grasses/plants growing very tall on this 4.5 acres. There is fencing around the whole perimeter, but not the kind to contain squirrelly goats. From UHaul to one portion of pen area meant to limit grass access only "worked" for all of 3 minutes. Quite interesting and entertaining to reconfine "we are freeeee!!!!" goats into UHaul to get back to MnMs property. So....am I glad I did this? Sometimes in life, you make choices you absolutely can't undo. And it was my choice... it was not one of those horrendous life/luster/luck -stripping fate entrapments that, our...ahhh.. "maturity level", know, and fear. So I'm okay with going down this path. Trips, falls, and all. Sunsets are vivid thru 5 huge windows. Next door is a 10- acre parcel of land, with lots of sheep, and active schooling of sheep herding dogs. I no longer hear I5 (interstate 5), nor freight trains horn blasts all night long. Gonna have to learn. A lot. Which beats boredom. I'm grateful for at least a wee bit of awareness of how rough life was (and, for many on this planet, still is). But, i will say what I told my kids... I ain't fng moving, again!! As of today, I have canceled my Milwaukee-journey for the reunion. I have to focus my time, finances (did i mention springing $47,000 out of savings, beyond sale of my house proceeds... did NOT expect that! ), priorities, and just plain get my shizzle together. I gotta grow up. Again. Honestly, classmates... oldsters, middle boomers,... love to you all!
