My Job
I moved from Seattle to Coldfoot, Alaska,(located inside the Artic Circle),after my husband passed away in 1997,I worked as the Office Manager for Sourdough Fuel which is known as the worlds farthest northern truck stop.I now live in Fairbanks.
I enjoy writing & am working on a book and recently had two of my poems published!
Patricia (Lovett) Dillard, who I spent my Sophmore & Junior year with at Holy Angels High School, asked in her bio,"Anyone remember the time the clocks where set ahead 1 hour and the nuns went crazy?" Well ... that was me and Colleen Meeker ... wanted to get out of school early cuz Ballard was on Spring Break and we weren't and we wanted to get to the beach to party with friends but alas ...we got soooo caught!:-) I was voted prettiest eyes in school so go by: ak dot blueyes at hot mail for my dot com handle.
SO many memories and I NEVER got away with anything but it also never stopped me. I worked in the office at Ballard my Senior year & part of my job was to collect the absentee cards posted outside the home-rooms. I used to charge .50 cents pe...Expand for more
r person to add to the list so they wouldn't get caught skipping school ... got caught at that too! But it was lucritive while it lasted! LOL!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2005. 17 months of chemo, 7 weeks radiation. In July, 2011, I hit my 5 year milestone for being in remission (cancer free!). I am involved in RLF (Relay for Life) for The Amarican Cancer Society ... we've come a long way in raising awareness and funds to help find a cure. As a survivor I am truly blessed to have my health AND my hair back and still be on the planet.
In Oct. 2010, over a dozen of us Ballard ladies went to Vegas for our "combined" 60th birthday LAS VEGAS BASH and what a bash indeed. Rode the bull at Toby Kieth's Bar & Grill and now we've been youtubed... so who says you can't ride a bull at 60?!?! Whata hoot!!! Our 40th reunion (in 2008) brought a lot of us Ballard Beaver Ladies back together... again!
Jumping ahead to present time now... Oct. 2011, I moved back to WA after 13 1/2 years in Alaska!
May you always, in all ways, be happy and healthy ... live well and prosper! =)
