My name is Marilyn (Franklin) Land, and my latest novel Clattering Sparrows was released August 2010.
It is a heartwarming and compelling story of friendship centered on the fascinating and addictive ancient Chinese game of Mahjong. I grew up and attended school in Washington, DC; married and raised my family in Silver Spring, MD; moved to Cape Cod, MA in 2000 with my husband Jack.
We have two children: a son who lives in Newton, MA and a daughter who lives in Ijamsville, MD. We have five grandchildren; our two eldest Andrew and Haley are freshmen at the University of Maryland.
I didn't start writing until I retired to Cape Cod. In 2005 my novel The Dollmaker was published.
