Mario's Story
August 20, 2008
Well, here it is, 2008, & I'm about to turn 48 on Saturday. You know , now I can walk down the street with my head up and not worry if someones behind me trying to do me. I've been working as an LVN for 8 years now. You should see the little 11yr old boy that is my client, I go to school with him (I do different treatments and procedures throughout the day) Yea I'm in 4th grade again. It's cute to hear him pick up on diffefent phrases that I say, heck his mother and dad say that he also does some of my facial expressions, and that he looks like me at times
"Oh the poor child". But it's great, having a part in this child's future, showing him right and wrong. I now wish that I would have had another, after my son was born, his mother and I parted, she moved up north, and I rarely got a chance to see him, and I wasn't a part of his childhood. I can only look back now and see that it was probably for the best as that's about the time when I began getting into the drugs and what kind of Dad would I have been in that condition. Well back to my boys. The best part, is that I have a 2-fer, 2 for one. not only Sean, but his younger brother Ryan. When either of them do somthing that they could get in trouble for, I break out my Bible, and we start readi...Expand for more
ng. Now, before the guys do something, they say "no, we'd better not, don't make him take out his Bible" It's great because mom ans dad encourage me to show them. I have Diabetes. I was diagnosed in 1995, and after I learned more about the disease process, I figured that I had it back in the early 80's. I'm sure that it was from the lifestyle that I led, the Dope and alcohol abuse. My best friend died from pancreatic cancer, probably also from the drugs I really miss him. His name is John De Augustine, and I learned alot from him when I was working as a mechanic. We built my car together, a '70 Chevy Nova, Man it was a runner. And pretty too, flared fenders, nice wheels and tires and Candy Red with an Orange grafic stripe. Man that was a nice car. Hey, I'm losing weight, after leaving the drugs, I blew up to a whopping 325lbs. You can see for yourselves, the pictures in my profile, yea that's me, it looks like I went on a helium diet. I'm down to 250 now and still losing. I've been having a blast contacting some of my friends on the classmates website, there are a few that I haven't heard from yet, but, I'm still looking. so, if you stop in to see my profile, and you remember me, E-Mail me, heck we'll talk about something, anything.......................Mario
