Lilly's Story
Life
After leaving YHS, I went on to ISU where I got a bachelors degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. I concentrated on Latin American studies and social welfare policy. While at ISU I helped to found the first predominately but not exclusively Latina sorority. Sigma Lambda Gamma. I went into Student Affairs. I loved working with Students, still do. Moved on to Connecticut where I spent the last 5 years working in Residential Life and Multicultural Affairs. I just left my position as Director of the Unity Center in March to move closer to the family. Which means life has come full cirlce, ba...Expand for more
ck in Yorkville, and working part time as a consultant at Illinois State University.
No husband, no kids, one failed engagement.
Next move is on to the PhD, I want to be a therapist. I have been working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence for several years as a volunteer and think its time to make my passion my career path.
Really active in church usually working with the youth, although I have yet to find a church in the area. I also assist with the women's ministry's. I bring a slightly feminist edge to the Body of Christ...its fun!
Thats my life for the last 12 years..ugh are we really that old!
