Mariza's Story

Life Been living in Houston, TX since summer of 1980. I have two adult daughters, been divorced, and currently happily hooked up with the most perfect man. Handsome too. NOT SURE WHEN ILL GET HITCHED, SOON I HOPE! I still keep in touch with Kim Parker, married with kids. We are still best friends after 30 years. She still lives there in Indiana. I try to get back home at least once every couple of years. Can't say I'll ever move back (I didn't say never). TOO Cold. Of course it's like a sauna here in Houston. HOT and HUMID. Just stay indoors and you'll survive. Or there's always the pool. Anyone have any new or exciting news? The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Kim Parker Humvrick, because she has been my one true, best friend since 5th grade.. I am totally into basketball. Ever you get a chance to check out the "Red Rowdies" Houston Rockets fan club on google, these are my crazy wonderful friends. They want me to join, but just can't commit to it right now. Maybe in the future. My current age is 45. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be like dead. When you're 12 you think people in their 40's is oooold. I was sooooo WRONG. In 10 years, I hope to be better off than I am now. I'm hoping to get there by the time I retire. The...Expand for more
one person from my past I'd most like to see, Kim Parker (maiden name), I met Kim when I transferred from Merriville. We met in 5th grade. I don't really know why we clicked, but we did. I think we were both misfits from a disfunctional home life. We just bonded and have been friends ever since. My first job was at Lake Central, where I got paid $1.10 an hour to work in the office and also the bookstore. What I remember most about it is the old cluncky typewriters and getting to make announcements over the intercom. Childhood memory: This is not so much a childhood as a teenage memory. It of course involves Kim. I think it was in the 8th grade, there was this new transfer from another school. She was this tall hefty girl, course I was a wimpy 4'9" 85lb runt, and for some reason she wanted to kick the crap out of me. Never knew why, anyway, when Kim found out she approached this girl, Kim was always a tough-a**, and asked her what her beef was with me. Don't know what she told her, but Kim let her know none to quick if she laid one finger on me she would be dead meat. And if anyone remembers Kim back in the day- YOU DIDN'T JACK WITH KIM!!!! Needless to say I'm alive and the girl left me alone. Well, just some tidbits of my life. Let me know if ya wanna know anything else.
