"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -Benjamin Franklin "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty" - Thomas Jefferson". More about Marjori:"After believing I would be a career mom for many years, the Lord visited me after the birth of our third son in 1992. Nic was born too early and was on oxygen and an apnea monitor for six months. Gary and I had to learn CPR before we could finally bring him home from the hospital. It was so scary, but that wasn't all. During this same period of time our oldest son was recovering from CNS involvement from Lyme disease. He'd been in the hospital for 6 weeks in New Jersey (with a crash cart by his bed so they could desensitize him to the antibiotic of choice). When we brought Nic home Nelson still had a Central Line and required IV therapy every 6 hours (to be given very slowly with Be...Expand for more
nadryl) for the next several months. Nate was only three and a half years old at the time. He was confused and scared by all the medical equipment we had crammed in our 1400 square foot apt. He had the same curly hair he has now, but was so shy he hid under the table whenever people came to visit. Somewhere in the midst of those circumstances, God awakened something inside of me that I did not even know was there. One day as I sat reading scriptures out loud to the boys, my desire to be a career woman began to dissipate and my heart began to long to be a full time mom, and no one was more surprised than I was. At first my desire was something I kept between me and God, after all how would we ever be able to make it without me working? A short time later I became pregnant with our fourth son Noah. I was glad that he would be born in the summer because it would mean that I would have extra time with him. I reluctantly returned to my job just before Christmas in 1994. During Noah's first year he was hospitalized twice (each time for a week) because of exacerbated asthma/RSV. I stayed at the hospital around the clock with him crying liquid prayers & wanting to be a stay at home mom. The next summer (1997) we broke ground on our house (with the help of our family and all the members of our cell church). The next January we moved into our dream house, due in large part to my salary. Then the day after my 40th birthday, I was in a car accident driving to work. That car accident was the unexpected catalyst for a chain of events that would eventually give me that desire of my heart. Not in the exact way I would have chosen, I must admit. But in truth, I feel like the Lord delivered me from a very full life and blessed me with the desire of my heart. I would not trade my time home with our children for anything in the world. It is the best thing that has ever happened to our family. Somehow miraculously God allowed us to keep our home. Gary found employment with benefits and a retirement plan. On September 2006 it will have been 8 years since my THR, the one that failed and was the second occurrence in that unexpected chain of events that would eventually give me the desire of my heart: to be able to be a full time wife, mom, and servant of the Most High God.".
