Mark's Story
After high school it was onward and upward to Rio Hondo! I crammed two semesters of broadcasting and then went out in the real world. I worked on the radio in Palmdale, Bakersfield, San Diego, and finally in Los Angeles at several radio stations you may remember, K-100, KHJ, K-West, KEZY and KODJ. On the air, my "fake name" was Pat Garrett. I was also "The Unknown Disc Jockey" at KHJ for a year (1978). That was different.
After that I got into radio management and worked in Monterey, San Francisco, Jacksonville, FL and Winston-Salem, NC. I also owned a share of a station in Monterey.
I've been divorced twice and have two great teenagers, Shelby and Andrew. They both think I'm a human ATM.
We also have three dogs; Phoebe (Shi Tzu), Helga (Pug) and Lila (Boston Terrier).

xciting life (so far) and have met a lot of the people that we all grew up listening to on the radio (musicians, singers, etc). Believe it or not, that kind of stuff gets old after a while, especially when you learn that these folks are just as down to earth as most of us! It's still a treat nonetheless.
I was into sports cars for a while, then moved into SUV's and now I've realized that I'm sick of throwing money away on gas so I bought a new Honda Civic, and believe it or not, I love that car! It makes me feel that I'm making an eco contribution in some small way.
When I worked in Los Angeles I lived in Diamond Bar. It was nice out there but I haven't been back to California since 1996. I can only imagine all of the changes! It probably doesn't even look the same.
