Mark's Story
Life
Okay, so I've been divorced now for about a year. I figured it was time to update my story to match.
Up until the divorce, I was Dad to three beautiful daughters and one very handsome son. The girls are 21,20, and 19. My son is also 19, since he's half of a set of twins. :-) The older half, he'd be quick to tell you, since he was first. All have apartments and jobs or are in school or both. I was their father for the last eleven years, so they are in fact my step-children. It is a distinction that I've never cared to make. To me, they will always be my kids.
I have two cats and share the custody of our two spoiled dogs that I love very much with my ex-wife. The ex and I are still good friends, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I still own my house and its probably too big for just me, but I'd likely lose money to sell right now. And I like all the space, to be honest! :o)
It's been a long time since I've had the pleasure of driving a stick-shift, so last year I took a trip to California and bought a 1989 Porsche 944 S2, then drove down the coast and spent some time in Hollywood and LA before driving it back ho...Expand for more
me to Austin. Driving that car around the LA freeways late at night when traffic was light, being challenged by and playing follow the leader with some local street racers was worth the entire trip! And its just my luck that I could go all that way only to get a ticket for a lousy 5 miles over the limit about 20 miles from home. :o/

Workplace
I've done a myriad of different jobs, some of them downright fun!
courier, programmer, retail manager, maintenance manager, cad designer, photographer, limo driver, electrician, software salesman, computer instructor, surveyor, administrator.
So I've spent over the last five as a Survey Manager for a large highway construction firm, building a new tollway from Austin to San Antonio. As for the workload, let's just say that I've accumulated a lot of vacation time, because I never seem to get to use any of it.
There is no clear line of progression to show how I got here. In fact, sometimes, it boggles the mind. But I have a great job with a very strong, worldwide company, and I'm quite grateful for it.
