Life
Well , where do I start?
I fell in love with a little dark haired girl ( Mary ) from Northview High in December of 74. ( And we're still together after 40 years .) I went to work for a steel construction company just out of high school , and had it made , or so I thought . -- The company I worked for went belly up when the owner discovered cocaine and horse racing , so I did what all youngsters do , I went home . -- Mom and Dad had moved all the way to Arkansas , and that's how I got here . -- That was in 76 . -- I got established here in Arkansas and went back to California to get my girl , but I had to marry her first .( That was April of 77 .) -- We were married on a Wednesday , and back here by Sunday . -- Stayed here until 79 and went back to So. California to work in construction again . -- Hopped from one job to another , while always repairing cars on the side for friends , and of course family . -- Went to work for Miller Brewing Co. for a while , but too many layoffs and a kid on the way mandated a solid job . -- Drove a truck for a furniture factor...Expand for more
y out of L. A. for about a year and then went to work for Pepsi Cola as a route driver until October of 85 . -- My oldest boy was now 4 1/2 , and the youngest was 3 , so we decided to get out of So. Cal. for good . -- The schools are good , but the crime rate is horrendous , so we moved back to Arkansas to raise our kids in a safer environment .
Went to work for Allied Van Lines until a back injury put me out of commission . (That was March of 88.) -- When I settled with Workmans Comp., I partnered up with another mechanic and opened an auto repair business , ( Jan. 1990 ) and as they say , the rest is history . -- We're now in our 29th year , and going strong .
I love living here in the Arkansas Ozarks , as I love to go camping and fishing , and since we have two big lakes within 10 minutes of the house , if you can't find me around the shop or house , I'm on the lake fishing . -- It has become a serious passion you might say . -- We have two sons , 2 Grandkids , 1 horse , 1 dog , and 1 cat on our little homestead , and in all honesty , I couldn't be happier .
