Mark's Story
Christmas update 2013. After college (Washburn University) I took the highest paying job offered, driving a beer truck. That lasted through the coldest winter and deepest snow I ever recall (other than the 4 feet of snow we had to walk back and forth to grade school in, uphill both ways).
I joined the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office in 1978 and the Olathe Police Department in 1983, working...Expand for more
in patrol, the detective bureau and finally supervising the tactical unit. I left there in 1993 and worked for an insurance carrier until the end of 2013 in the investigations unit. Work force reductions eliminated my entire team of 115, so retirement followed. Hopefully not for long.
I married Paula Clark (class of 73) while in college and we have 3 daughters, 1 son, and 2 lovely granddaughters.
