Mark's Story
(Boring but tells you what I have been up to for the past 30-odd years) After leaving Rancho, worked my way through the university (CSUF) and doctoral studies at UCSD Department of Chemistry. Off to London (University of London) for 6 months of postdoctoral research (American Cancer Society Funding) and stayed for nearly 8 years (4 years at the Imperial Cancer Research Foundation, London). o Academy, Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacy, since 1997. Study medically relevant proteins using bioinformatics and X-ray crystallography. Published about 140 articles, several patents. I am director of a large national doctoral school and coordinate networking among national schools in the Nordic region and soon for schools within northern Europe.
Love to sail (1000's of islands here) and the Finnish way of living. Visit OC once a year or so. Miss excellent Mexican food, especially Roberto's in San Diego.
