Mark's Story
Life
Been teaching high school ceramics/sculpture classes, art history and video productions in beautiful Santa Cruz, Ca on the Monterey Bay since 71! Also taught several education courses for the University of California over the years. Finally "graduated" this past June. Have had an extraordinary career including a central role in restructuring not only our school but as a consultant for other districts and working with the Coalition of Essential Schools nationally. Was granted a Fulbright Fellowship in the late 90's to go to Japan and help their government look at their own issues around restructuring... fascinating experience.
Own a Victorian which keeps me busy ...and love to cook, love nature and any excuse to be outdoors. Am addicted to world travel but prefer the out of the way back roads to the fancy side of travel. Am interested in cultures and local regional arts around the world. Music and making art are two more of my addictions.
Bali, Thailand and Viet Nam are some of my favorites... of course Peru and Guatemala are up there too ...and for a pure breathtaking e...Expand for more
xperience, Ankor Wat in Cambodia is hard to beat! I give digital slide shows on various world travels.
Have a boat in the harbor (a partnership) love to kayak in the slough nearby and take in the many sea otters and seals. This is a fabulous bay with lots of sea life and great surf... a national marine sanctuary.
Never married... I think I was married to my work and to travel instead. But I have had several fine relationships with women that mostly have stayed my friends. Would love to "settle down" and see the world (go places and eat things) with another fine soul.
Am now free to travel, do remodels, music venues (music is a big part of my life as well), make art, cook and garden. Excess is barely enough ...and one life certainly is not. Anyone out there want to keep up with me? Can be contacted directly at mark2u at cruzio dot com. Still have regular contact with Hershel Zellman and Ben Tenn and rare contact with George Chekoris and Jim Fotinakis (or... "Jim fart knockers") as we used to call him in forth grade... Ha! Hope you are all happy and healthy too!
