Mark's Story

Life If you know me I have more or less been the same person and this bio will change from time to time. After graduation I did as most and enrolled in Ventura College which can be viewed as an extension of high school. I noticed I saw quite a few people coming back from universities to VC and after that I didn't feel bad about my decision to go there. I took a comment seriously that was said in our senior video that people who go to VC usually stay there longer and don't finish, making it seem like a bad place. I made it my goal to be out of there in two years and not a day more. I played football there. Played in games the second year, was never a starter or important piece of the team in my eyes. I met some good people through the team and learned that success for some people in life was riding on what they did on that field because they were unable do anything else or thought nothing of school. I'm glad i am not one of them. I am currently in Tacoma, WA attending the University of Puget (pew-jet) Sound. It's a small private liberal arts school the size of a high school(2,400). otball but as a way to pass time and stay busy. As of yet I have not had success playing in college because of injuries but i still do it because its fun not because I can't let go. The last couple of years have been filled with ups and downs but one of the up's is my two nieces. Hazel and my god daughter Amris. They are what keep me going being so far from home. I plan to be done with My B.A. in the spring (May) of '06 and have completed my M.A.T. (Masters of Arts in Teaching) a year later. School Well, I was into sports above all else and was decent at them. Made all-league teams, was on a great football teams that actually won games. But I was cool with everyone that actually knew me and didn't know me that well. I don't have any bad memories that ruined my experience but did have ones that I learned from and did things I never should have but who doesn't. I had my friends and that's what mattered to me at the time. I was proud to be a cardinal and to be from santa paula. College did my two years and got the hell out instead of taking five years like other people I've known or not finishing
