Mark's Story
Retired from the Marine Corps after 20 years and 8 months. That last trip to the desert was enough for me. I was glad to come home alive. I did get a chance to visit over 15 different countries. I have found that the english language is the way to go. I can't count dinars or even tell you the exchange rate. However, they seem to know how to count the American dollar anywhere. They know the presidents and Franklin pretty well.
Now I am working as a government contractor and living in Annapolis Md.
Three children 22, 19, 17. About at the empty nest stage of my life. What a wonderful life I have had. I feel so lucky.
Enjoy sports. Play baseball in an over 38 league. It is just like being a kid again. I go to the gym almost every day. That is the Marine in me. I think I still have to stay in...Expand for more
shape. I ride my bike on days with nice weather. I have a mid-life sports car. My son also pressured me into it. He said, do it dad you deserve it.
Lets see, I own a nice home. I have 5 fish 2 dogs and 1 rabbit. The pets are the wife and daughter's idea. I like the pets and the girls too.
I think I am pretty funny most of the time. When I get home I try to get together with Rick Johnson, Dick Chaney and Tom Jackson. Tom, Rick and I went in the Marine Corps at the same time. I was the only one dumb enough or smart enough which ever you perfer, to stay in. Hey, the check from them every month comes in handy. It was well earned. I served my country honorably. I worked hard every day and when I was called, I went and gave you all my best.
That is about it in a nut shell.
