Mark's Story
Life
Beverly and I moved from Eureka in August 1985 to the Bay Area for employment and then to teaching in school districts in the Central Valley, Nashville, Tennessee in 1997, then moved to Arizona in Summer 2002 first to Camp Verde and now in the Metro Phoenix area, where we have just purchased a home. Rachel (now 15) plays trumpet and Robert (now 10) are doing well in school, and wife Beverly works at the University of Phoenix. I will be teaching middle school band this year, waiting for a new high school to open up next year. This year marks our 22nd Wedding Anniversary.

mplete my teaching credentials and start on my chosen career of being a band director. Since then, I student taught in Eureka City Schools with my old teacher Charles Hytken, and at Turlock High School. I taught in the Tracy Unified School District, Golden State Middle School in West Sacramento, Mesa Verde High School in Citrus Heights, Metro Nashville Public Schools for 5 years, in 2002-2004 at Camp Verde High School in Camp Verde, AZ, 2004-2005 at Paseo Hills School in Deer Valley Unified School District, in 2005-07 at Dysart High School, and in 2007-08 at Westwind Intermediate School. I am currently working toward a 2nd and 3rd Masters, one in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, and Masters in Psychology from University of Phoenix. This year marks my 16th year of teaching.
