Mark's Story
Life
I went into the US Air Force after high school graduation. I stayed in the military for 20 years. I married in 1977, and have three wonderful daughters and three grandchildren. I currently live in Valparaiso, Florida. I work for a telecommunications firm in program management in support of the military and the EOD school down here. I still get to Stamford about 2 times a year where its always good to see old friends and family.
Schools
Saint Mary's was an experience. I had a hard time with discipline and was at odds with many of the Nuns, but I must say they gave me good values and Father Gleason was a real influence in my life.
Rogers - My first foray into the public school system. The problem there was that the public school classes did not match up to Catholic school classes so they went by grades. Stamford High - For a while I thought my life's goal was to be a professional Student. Thought I would never get out of there. I made good friends, some of which I still keep up with.
College - It took a while but I first got an associates then a bachelors. Who would have guessed.
Workplace
Working at howlands shoe store with Judy, and Donna. Going to lunch and dinner with Judy and Sven. Not much money, but it was a good time with good friends.
Military
It was not until I went into the military that I found out that I had an aptitude for electronics. Not only was I good at it, I loved it. This also helped lead me into the telecommunications industry. Going into the military was the best move I ever made. It straightened me out, it's where I met my wife, and where I figured out what I wanted to do with my life.
I am now active in Church (Holy name of Jesus) and in the Kights of Columbus. I have a good life and thank God everyday for it.
