Mark's Story
Once upon a time in a land far, far away, lived a boy who dreamed of nothing in particular. Fortunately, life filled in the gaps with more than I could hope for. Rich? Nope. Famous? Uh-uh. Powerful? I can open a cereal box without trying. But even though I haven't got any of those things, have been divorced, and am still fighting the weight (Except for that period between 1978 and 1988, when I almost achieved hunk-hood), I'm still very fortunate. I've got two great sons who have married wonderful girls and I have remarried. Some of you might even know her. She was a year behind us. She was always a friend but I never noticed anything more. o left her like my ex left me, in almost the same time frame. Her family had moved back to Tennessee in the meantime, about 2 hours away, and I'd see her once every couple of years or so. Then one day she invited me down to a bonfire. Something happened there that I was not expecting. I realized that I was being reacquainted with the true love of my life. We've been married for over 17 years now, and if it weren't for my boys, I'd somehow find a time machine to do a chunk of my life over again. For I found out that she was interested in me way back then. (Sigh). Well, the important thing is that we're together now. It's true what they say. Youth is wasted on the young!
