Mark's Story
I kept working at UPS after graduating from Bowsher in 1973; the job helped pay my way through college - "Bancroft High", at the time still called Toledo University. Shortly after I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double majoring in Art and Theater, I married Kathleen Yeager. I remained at UPS for a total of 35 years, publishing an independent comic book among other art gigs, drawing caricatures at parties and so on, along the way.
A couple of years before retiring from UPS I began to turn my lifelong love of building plastic models from a hobby into a profession. My work had received awards at local, regional, and national competitions, and I began writing articles for various hobby magazines and a couple books. When Kathy became the Business Manager for the Toledo Repertoire Theater, it was only a matter of time before the bug bit and I returned to the stage. I hadn't trod the boards since REBELEES 1973, but soon learned that I could still serve up ham. I've also been called upon to create makeups for some of The Rep's productions.
In 2012 I was hired by the Protective Services department of the Toledo Museum of Art. Kathy and I have no children but we do keep spoiled dogs around. We are very active in the Stormy Petrels of Maumee Bay, the local scion of the Baker Street Irregulars, a national group that studies the Sherlock Holmes literature begun by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. In 2008 I joined a book club, which meets to discuss a variety of works that we choose monthly. These things and wasting far too much time on the computer are what I'm up to at present.
