Dale's Story

I left Skokie, Il in 1982 and move to sunny California when I got hired on by the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller and have never looked back. I spent 16 years in Lancaster where I met my one and only wife, Louise DiTursi, who attended AVHS from 1975-79. We partied heavily, traveled around to enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, camping and good friends. We built a house in 1987 and got married the same year. d Kaylee was born in 1992. We opted to move to Escondido, in the northern San Diego area, in 1999. We built a house on the side of a hillside that encompasses an acre. The surroundings overlook our valley and is very colorful in the springtime. I became eligble for retirement last April , but can go another 8 years until the age of 56. It has been a long 26 years already. Age 56 is when the FAA requires a controller to call it quits. Louise also works for the FAA as a Data Com Manager. We Every once and awhile we head back to Lancaster and Chicago to visit with the relatives.
