I am widow learning to live on my own for the first time in 65 years. Life goes on. The class 65th birthday party is set for Saturday, September 15, 2912. It is a casual event. No host bar. All you can eat pizza and salad and one cupcake for a $10 admission fee collected at the door. Cash only no checks. We have almost 100 preregistered, but will take your money at the door $10 per person. Location: Papa's Pizza Parlor 16321 SE Stark Portland, OR. This is the old Jack and Jill's site! Time is from 6 p.m. until we close the place down. 65 and still alive!!! Have enjoyed serving on JMHS Class of '65 reunion committee for the last 20 years. Reunion questions? Ask me! I used to write a weekly email newsletter for members of the JMHS Class of 65, but ceased several years ago when it became too difficult to accommodate the requirements of everyone's servers. It was fun while it lasted. Since then I have tried to keep classmates connected through Facebook. Sheila Holm Ford is now attempting to build a c;ass website which would help us stay together as a class and give us a place to hang out together online. School There were many things I wanted to do in high school, but didn't because of my weight. Yes, I was involved in many activities (school plays, business mgr of the LEX (yearbook), sold ads for the cub edition of the VERDICT (school newspaper), served as VP of the 400+ member PEP CLUB, was a charter member of KALIKKI Tri-Hi-Y, and graduated with a pretty darned good education. But I always wanted to be a cheerleader (didn't we all). My husband Jerry was Marshall class of '62, but graduated while in the Army. I enjoyed watching both of our children Geoff (Class of '92) and Gretchen (Class of '95) as they moved through Marshall. Both were involved in so many activities themselves. Our daughter was the cheer coach at Marshall for ten yesars until it closed and now coachs at Franklin besides her regular day job. My son is involved with the leadership of the neighborhood institution Lents Little League and three of my four grandchildren have played with Lents teams. The youngest one is just a baby, butr he's an up and coming t-baller if you'll give him a few years. We are proud to still support the community and Marshall High School. Workplace I worked for Multnomah County Assessment and Taxation over 25 years. I started as a...Expand for more
n office assistant in the Tax Collection area and was quickly promoted to Bankruptcy/Excise Tax Specialist. In 1986 I was one of the first employees to enter a training program to become a Property Appraiser. I was certified as a Property Appraiser in November of 1987. I have experience in Appraising Personal, Residential, and Commercial properties for ad valorem tax purposes. In 2001 I was elected President of the Multnomah County Employees Union, AFSCME, Local 88. I served approximately 3000 members across many job classifications. I loved the challenge and the dynamics of this position. I graduated from the U of O Labor Education and Research Center's U-LEAD program. I retired from my county job and as President of AFSCME Local 88 in January of 2005. The best part of the job was finding the right people, the ones with a passion for a position within the union (like Web Page Developer, or Admin, or Writer and Editor of the local's monthly news article in the Labor Press, etc.) and watching them successfully grow into their potential. I am a service oriented leader and I love that aspect of leadership. Hobbies and Interests I would have to say my biggest interest is my family... My mother, Pauline, will be 86 in November only recently moving to an adult foster care facility. My son Geoff and his family: wife Angie and three children Stephanie 15, Jacob 14 and Hannah 8. My daughter Gretchen came back home to live with me when her daddy passed, but found the love of her life and married in December 2009. She now has her own home with her husband Jake Groves and their baby son Cooper.. I do have other interests and hobbies outside of my family. Of course spending time with my friends is a number one priority and I do find time to have lunch, dinner, coffee or see a movie quite often with friends from work, school, etc. I like to play Pogo games on my computer, am active on Facebook and put plenty of hours in there. I have also put quite a number of years into my Toastmasters membership, previously served as Area Governor, and have held almost all clhb offices except Sergeant at Arms. I am currently active in Portland Progressives Toastmasters and earned my Distinguished Toastmaster designation several years ago. I am also active in Beta Sigma Phi Rho Masters chapter. It is an international social, service and philanthropic sorority not associated with an educational institution. I have always been verbose...I like to write and talk so blogging on the computer and speaking in Toastmasters are great outlets for me. I also enjoy reading and have recently read quite a few interesting books, fiction, non-fiction, and biographies. If you'd like to talk about some of the books I've read or get reacquainted ... contact me ... I am always up for conversation. Fondly, Marla

We are evidently not Facebook friends, so I will wish Donna Zaragoza Neil, my son’s mother in law, a very happy birthday and many more.
Do you have Facebook “friends” you don't talk to?
Let’s change that. If you're reading this, leave me 1 GIF about your day, then put this to your wall so I can leave one.
So proud ... my Sonny boy was awarded Best Old School at the Southeast MiniTruckin Nationals in North Carolina today Sunday, April 25, 2021. Congratulations Geoff Roseberger

Post seven albums that I like (or have been significant to me) - one album per day. No explanations, no reviews - just covers. Each day I will ask a friend to take up this same challenge. I challenge the person who wo
