Marnie's Story
Hello and Blessed Be everyone,
I wont go into what has happened in my life up until this point. I have dealt with alot of abuse, abandonment and I guess you could say poor choices in life.
I will say however that everything I have endured has made me rock solid, a great mother, a great well rounded person, extremely spiritual and I wouldn't trade most of my experiences the good and the bad for anything.
I have had to do alot of soul searching and have made many changes within my life all the way to my spiritual path.
At this time I live in the wonderful and horribly insane city of Las Vegas.
I live with my little girl Emily and I am raising her alone. I work in the beauty/Fragrance and cosmetic industry. I work on the strip at a very high end dept store and yes I meet alot of celebs.
I have done makeup artistry but now I am just mostly sales.
I have been single for 6 1/2 years...and I rarely date. I am extremely picky and extremely busy with work and being a full time single parent and have found all I need are my kids and myself. I would rather be alone than in a situation that is not healthy or positive for me and my little girl.
My daughter Emily is my heart and my soul... she is the reason I keep going even through all of the adversity.
She is my soul mate and my best friend.
She has the most animated, friendly and outgoing personality. Take a look at her pics, she looks like a character from an animated Disney movie come to life LOL
She definitely loves the camera and the camera loves her.
She is also very smart and I am proud to say a straight A student.
She seems to be following in her mother's love for books. <proud grin>
She is currently taking acting and modeling classes with Kim Flowers. I am hoping to get her into a commercial, movies or even some print work. Kim Flowers brings in producers and agents from Los Angeles here to Vegas so she is getting some exposure.
My son Jesse is lucky to be here. He has Kawasaki disease and last year we found a huge aneurysm on his heart. He had open heart bypass surgery last year to remove it and it could have killed him at any time all of these years.
So he is still here, doing well and has some beautiful and awesome scars to show. I tell him scars are a sure chick magnet LOLOL
I look at John Travolta and his son and my heart breaks but at the same time I am so thankful and blessed we found Jesse's before anything did happen.
I love hard rock and metal... a remnant of my younger years when I was a full blown metal head in the mid-late '80's. I also love Celtic and World
music
as does my adult son Jesse. I am so joyed the he and I share so much in common especially our music.
My favorite bands are Nightwish and Kamelot. I guess I have a thing for Scandinavian metal singers who are opera trained.
I also love Godsmack, Seether, Evanescence, Stone Sour, Loreena Mckennitt, Muse and Blackmore's Night.
I know I still look somewhat like a kid even though I am well into my 40's. I am told I look like a cross between Kate Bush and Bettie Page.
Being a huge Bettie Page fan, I do not complain ;)
As for Disney characters...Expand for more
, I get the cross between Snow White and Belle! Um yeah ok whatever.<giggle>
I am eccentric, wacky,
off beat, very down to earth and friendly.
Most people peg me as kind of
Goth, mystical and exotic.
I guess I can accept these labels, but deep down I do not like labels and I refuse to be pigeon holed into anybody's box.
I can be a bit opinionated at times and have no problem speaking my mind.
I am a total weirdo and I make no apologies for it!!
I have some health problems with my back. I have scholiosis and a herniated disk which is no fun with a job that requires me to be on my feet all day.
I have many wonderful friends, and love it when new people come into my life. People come into our lives to teach us something or for us to teach them and I have found this to be more than true.
I have friends and aquaintences from all walks of life... from musicians to magicians. From artists to high paid escorts. Rich, poor, every ethnicity and religious background from Christian, Jewish and Buddhist to Pagan, Wiccan, Druid and even a few Atheists. I would not have it any other way. I love diversity.
Age does not matter either. I can go out and have a blast with kids my son's age all the way to peeps in their 60's. I accept, love and get along with just about anybody.
Only exceptions are closed minded, elitist, bigoted and mean people. I refuse to waste my time with those kinds of people or to allow their negative energy into my sphere of existence.
I love the Renaissance faire, Harry Potter, the Twilight series ( yes I know it is teenage brain candy but I am loving it!!) I am somewhat of a thrill seeker at times.
I have playacted many roles at Ren Faire and I have even attempted sword fighting. Would love to pursue this further .
I love to play African drums and do alot of fire/drum circles, with some being all night circles out in the desert. There is nothing like drumming, dancing, singing and chanting all night around a fire just like our ancestors did, with other people close enough to be family
and then watching the sun come up over the desert mountains. Quite the alchemical experience.
I used to play electric guitar and violin.
I write poetry at times... Unfortunately the urge and inspiration usually only comes at times when my life is going to sh**...lol....
I am a great and prolific writer when I put my mind to do so... as you can see from my auto biograpy here, I can be quite verbose when needed <gr>
I belly dance (when my back is not acting up) and sometimes I walk with a cane.
At this present time I am learning how to make my own Meade (honey wine). This will be a year long endeavor and in the end I will have over 30 bottles of delicious honey Meade in several flavors.
I am finding wine making fascinating and I think I found a new hobby.
Yes I am quite a multi faceted person.
I have lived much, loved hard and endured alot of pain and loss.
But it is better to have experienced these things and lost and hurt than not at all.
