Marsami's Story
Life
Well, where do I begin? I have 4 children/8 grandchildren (1 step-grandchild). I retired 7 yrs ago (after 20 yrs) from DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles - Ca) and went back to college. Graduated with BA degrees in Psycholgy and Business. My main hobby is quilting and last year I quilted 53 quilts and donated 40 of them to two worthy and needy organizations. This year my goal is 100 but I only have 30 made! I love to read many different genres such as Horror, Romance, and Historical. Also, I enjoy going to the movies, sitting on the beach, visiting my kids, and playing with my granchildren whom I entertain monthly. I take them in groups for the weekend! I love life and I love living it especially in sunny Southern California San Diego area. I am also a member of three honor societies: Phi Theta Kappa, Psi Chi, SEI. Furthermore, I hold membership with the Daughters of the American Revolution, and I am currently an officer - Registrar - helping other women to gain membership. I have written, copyrighted, and published two genealogy books. I am currently writing my life story for my children and grandchildren. I am an accomplished and published poet within the educational environment. And, I truly enjoy writing poetry for family and friends. I engage in many different arts and crafts such as needlework - crewl, counted cross-stitch, and embriodery. My newest passion is photography as my oldest son just purchased a new camera for me. I also do scrapbooking and travel extensively. I just returned from a month visit in China (November-2004). Like I said, I truly love my life!!!! Oh yes, I divorced after 14 yrs, raised my children alone, and never remarried. I love being single. Why mess up a good thing! I look young, I feel young, and I act young, and my kids love explaining how I'm their mother when I look their age! "Thank You" for letting me share part of myself with you. Update: As of October 2005- I am an Ombudsman for San Diego county "Aging and Independent Services." I work as an Advocate in the the Skilled Nuring and Residental Care facilities in my community.

School
I remember when Mr. Robinson called me into his office to interogate me on the new hiding place for marijuana in the girls bathroom. OH MY GOSH!!! Like I would know. Well, I thin...Expand for more
k I did. LOL I also remember the class play I performed in as Chloe(my Junior yr), and the class plays I worked on costume since my grandmother owned the costume shop(Penrod's Costumes). School was great, but like many past highschool students , I wish I had involved myself more. I still remember the wild parties and there were many. And I remember when David Myers was killed in the car accident our sophmore year. He was such a funny guy and a good friend. I remember many experiences. Some good, some funny, and some not. But most of all I remember how we all knew each other coming from such a small town, and attending such a small school.
College
I attended Palomar Community College first graduating in the top 1 percentile. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. After graduating with an AA in Liberal Arts, I transfered to CSU-SM for my BA in Psychology with a minor in Business. I was a member of both SEI (Business Honor Society) and Psi Chi and PSO (Psychology Honor Society). I graduated with a 3.64 gpa. I was very active in school initiating study groups and designing study guides for fellow students. I assisted five different Doctors as a Research Assistant with ongoing studies throughout my two years at CSU. I also tutored Psychology, English, and some Math at CSU and worked in the Tutoring Center. I write poetry and three poems were published both years in the CSU student paper.
