Marsha's Story

I went to Australia as a Rotary Exchange student for our Senior year so missed Sr. prom and graduation. Returned in August and married Mike Camp, (class of 68). He was stationed in the San Francisco Bay area in the Navy. I started working in the Silicon Valley in the computer industry starting as an assembler and working my way up to running the prototype lab for a bunch of engineers at a company that eventually got bought out by Motorola. At the same time I was attending community colleges all over the S.F. bay area in business and electronics. I eventually got my BA degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Cal State Hayward, Magna cum Laude, thank you very much, in 1987. In between times I designed and built a passive solar home in Yreka, Ca, had our son, Christopher in 1978, wired houses, drove truck, managed an office, volunteered at my kid's school and was president of a non-profit and a speaker about the joys and challenges of gifted kids. In 1988 we moved to Bellingham, WA, where Mike and I split. He wanted to go back to CA and I DIDN'T!! I got my real estate license and a divorce. I met Bruce Lockhart and we have been together over 20 years. My son, Chris, is an EMT, step-daughter, Lindsay is in San Francisco, writing for the on-line gaming industry, step-son Brad is a student at Western Washington University and a local Rock Star, and our daughter, Caitlin just finished her AA and will be starting at the University of Washington in September. We are raising our grandson, Benjamin who is 6 and in Kindergarten. That means I am now in...Expand for more
my 28th consecutive year of dealing with the public education system! Only 12 more to go! My parents are still in Shelton; just celebrated my Dad's 80th birthday. They are still living out on John's Prairie Rd. where we get together with Mom and Dad and my siblings, Lorri, Russell, Lorna and Sharon every couple of months for birthdays and Holidays. Bruce and I are founding owners and I am the designated broker for Keller Williams Realty in Bellingham. We are celebrating our 10th year in business and have about 100 agents. Bruce is perenially our top individual agent and I answer questions, teach classes and deal with legal issues for the company. We love to travel and play golf. We are members of St. James Presbyterian Church here and I volunteer as a consultant for the board of directors for Animals As Natural Therapy, (ANT). They do great work in the community and I get to be around horses, llamas, bunnies, chickens and some truly wonderful people. Things I remember at Shelton High. Being in the stands for every football game as a social event. I still don't understand football! Mr. Kreger's breakfast club class where we would manage to eat and distract him through most of the period...actually did maybe 10 minutes of math. Being totally intimidated by Miss Loudermilk. Getting stung by bees on the way to and from the track. The tunnel between buildings, debate class, and lots more... Bruce and I attended our 35th Shelton High reunion and had a ball. I would love to see you all July 24th at the Little Creek Casino. Be there or Be square!!
