Life
I am an engineering geologist for the California Geological Survey. I am the Senior Engineering Geologist in charge of the Eureka office of the the CGS Forest and Watershed Program. I have four children, a son age 32, a daughter age 30, and two daughters age 14 and 16. The eldest are both Iraq War veterans (Army and Marines). Deanna works for the University of Redlands and Jay is working for his Master's degree in Archeology. My wife is a professor at Humboldt State University, in wildland soils and range management.

dieval History being favorate subjects. Growing up in Topanga instilled in me a love of the outdoors, the ocean and geology along with a preference for rural living. We now live on the North Coast of California (Humboldt County) approximately 20 air miles from Redwood National Park and 30 from Eureka.
After leaving Topanga at the end of the ninth grade I attended Redlands High School and UC Riverside. I spent most of my career working in the geotechnical consulting industry in San Bernardino County before taking the job with the state in Humboldt County.
I recall fondly many friends from my school years and often wonder what ever became became of them.
