Martha's Story
Life
I am married (21 years) and the mother to two children, a boy and a girl. I also teach grades 9-12 full time with Loudoun County Public Schools. My life since high school included graduating from college with a business & teaching degree and holding numerous jobs in the business world before going into teaching full time. I feel lucky that I have been able to do both which I feels only adds to my teaching. At times I supplemented my full time jobs with part time teaching positions. last 17 years. I returned to my Northern Virginia roots in August 2000 when my husband relocated here because of a prior position. Its good to be back, although its quite different living back here as an adult and the area has changed a lot. I attended Madison HS in Vienna for my freshman year (1971-72) and spent the next three years at Oakton HS (1972-1975).
I stay busy with my two children and their many extracurricular activities. My daughter is a sophomore at James Madison High School in Vienna and my son attends Thoreau; both my alma maters.
Like me, my husband is a high school teacher.
