Martha's Story
Life
Should be in 1957 but I graduated early and wanted to be listed with all my friends I have known since grammar school.Married for over 45 years. Went to San Diego State with my husband, then to Graduate School in Berkeley. Worked in retail for many years and spent time in Santa Cruz, Washington State and finally back to the Palo Alto area. My husband was in the Ministry (Congregational). I was a Manager with Bullock's,Gottchalks and several other stores. Was recruited by Adia Personnel Services and spent four wonderful years with them as Western Region Manager of Permanent Placement. I then opened my own business in consulting. Economist(Photographer,Writer) a R.N.,a Programmer and a Chef. My new love is quilt design and quiltmaking. Some of my quilts have been all over the U.S. one even went to france. We also love to travel and Greece and the Med are favorite places. I am now a widow, my husband passed away this year (2017)
College
when I was at State, there were only around 4-5,000 students and we thought that was too many! We actually ran to class to sign up in a race for registration. State was a great school and my husband was there also. I did not finish because we were married and we could not afford for both of us to go at the same time. It was great anyway.
I took many courses in nursing and had hoped to finish but raised four children instead
