Martha's Story
Life
I met Alan Matthews at Emporia, KS. Alan's dad was Mr. Harrington's high school band director in Winfield, KS. Alan and I married in 1978, but no little ones until our son arrived in 1989 and our daughter in 1992. We moved to Iowa City, IA in 1978, but have lived in Des Moines or a suburb thereof since 1980. ce training for 12 years, then transferred to the accounting group as a business systems analyst for 28 years retiring in 2021. I was asked to consult back in 2023 so continue on in that capacity. Our grown children are doctors in their chosen field, our son in aerospace and our daughter in critical care pharmacy. We are busy with visiting kids, gardening (last summer releasing over 100 monarchs) and of course, home repairs.
