Martha Olivera:  

Busy, busy, busy. After high school graduation I went to the University of Redlands on a full scholarship where I received a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish with a minor in English. I had the opportunity to travel as a student both to D.C. for a semester and to Spain, which allowed me to see most of Europe. Then I went to UC Riverside on a full fellowship where I received an M.A. in U.S. History. I went into teaching after UCR (started at MVHS) and moved to Rosemead HS, and while teaching I received my teaching credentials from CSU San Bernardino in Spanish, US Government and US History. After this I returned to the University of Redlands to earn a 2nd M.A. in Education with credentials in counseling and administration. Upon completing this degree I left the classroom and became a dean of students at South Pasadena High School. Then, I was hired as a Guidance Administrator at Gahr High School where I have been for the past 7 years.
