Andree's Story
Hi, my name is Andree (Martin) Troy. I went to Ed white Jan 77- 79. I just left my home London England to join my mum and new family, in Jax Fla. My brother Tony Martin came one year later. I was not popular, so all of you out there may not know me. I was learning all the new things like pep rallies,football which we call rugby and being a sophomore. This was all so much to take in, but it was also exciting. I did meet a really nice cheerleader, that took me under her wing. Her name was Susan Wolfe. I'm wondering if any one has heard from her. I would love to know where she is. I am now married. My husband is in the Air Force. My last year(78-79) I went to Westside Skill center for cosmetology, and met up with a lot of girls from other schools all over Jacksonville. I was thinking of going to the 30th year Class reunion. I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bonkers idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.I worked in a hospital that deals with young people that has a disease named 'Huntingtons Disease'(H.D.) I became the coordinator for these people, who had maybe weeks, months or a few years to live.I had began a social group for them and I bought a karoke.I set it up for them, and we all sung. Even though some of them can not even talk. They tried their best to join in. I would start off with their favorite "Tears from Heaven" by Eric Clapton. I never thought I would have enough confidence to sing in front of all of them,and their family members. We all had a great time. Many of them have died, but I feel blessed that I made a difference in their lives. My husband received orders this year for D.C. so we had to move. The social group for The Huntingtons residents still is continued. The Lord blessed me to start this social group in 2001. The nursing home is in N.J.
