Martin's Story
Life
Where to start? I left Page after my junior year and moved to Washington State. I wrestled, ran track,
and graduated third in my class. I also met Lisa Poplin, who some of you might remember, again. She moved
to the same town in Washington a year earlier. Small world! We dated for 2 years before going our separate
ways. I attended junior college for 2 years. Toward the end of my second year I applied for the IBEW
Electrical Apprenticeship program and was accepted on the first try. After 4 years I became a journeyman.
I was married in 1980 and had 2 daughters. They are now 28 and 25 and each have kid...Expand for more
s of their own.
I was married for 21 years (way too long) but it ended in 2001.
I moved to Chicago and married for the second time in August, 2002.
My beautiful wife alex gave birth to our son, Kyle on Feb. 2nd, 2007. Yes, my son is younger than most of my grandchildren! I know it sounds crazy but I was much more ready in every way to be a father this time than I was when I was 20.
We live in Bedford, Texas and I really like it. The climate is good, the golf is good and the hunting is great. I do estimating and project management for an electrical contractor and my wife owns an outdoor lighting business.
