Martin's Story
Life
It all began in 1947. at 5 1/2 years old, I entered 1st grade, at Allapattah elementary. Graduated from grade 7, in 1954, and went to Miami Jackson Senior High School. After spending some of the best years of my life, I graduated and went to Florida State University, Seven years lator, in and out of FSU and Miami-Dade Community College, I got my Bachelors Degree in Health, Physical education, and Drivers education. I spent the next 38 years getting married, having three kids, and working for the Dade County Public Schools. In my spare time, I coached football and baseball at Miami Edison senior high, girls softball, at American Heritage senior high, and served a couple of terms as commishoner...Expand for more
in Miramar (1983-89). I am retired now, But still enjoy umpiring girls high school softball games in Broward County. I also enjoy spoiling my two grandsons.
Workplace
I began teaching in the Dade county school system in 1966. I taught science and P.E. at Palm Springs Junior High. moved to Horace Mann Junior High in 1967. I taught health, science, and P.E.In 1971, I became a guidence counsel-or. After 11 great years, I moved on to M<iami Northwestern Senior High as Asst. Principal. I remained there until 1988, and moved to Miamt Edison Senior High. I was there until 2002, when I retired. During my early days, I coached Junior High Sports, and Senior High football, baseball, and girls softball.
