Martin's Story

Life After leaving Arizona in '89 to go to college I found myself at the University of Notre Dame for 4 years. After four years, I was offered a job at the universtity of Notre Dame and decided to stay in the area and work. From Notre Dame, I moved on to Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. In 2002, I left Duke for a good job opportunity in Dallas, Texas. Actually, my wife and I were both offered jobs in Dallas and we decided to leave North Carolina (She is a Texas native). I miss Arizona and the mountains. I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and spend months in different countries. Even after all the traveling, I still miss Phx., Sedona, and Flagstaff. I can't see myself moving back to Arizona because of the job opportunity I have in Texas. Sadly, I have only been back to Arizona once in 8 years. I have not been able to find the time to go back home and spend time with my family. All is well in Texas, and I hope to start spending more time in Arizona with my oldest sisters kids. I would love to hear from just about anyone in high school. Sadly, over the years I have not kept in touch because I have returned so little to Arizona in the past 10 years. Once I left home for college, I can count on one hands how many times I have managed to get back home.....not good. I would love to hear from just about anyone. There are several people I wish to reconnect with. I have been a total slacker when it comes to keeping in touch. I hope to do better in the future. In 2005, my wife and ...Expand for more
I finally decided to take the plunge and have kids. Actually, we were getting old and my mother basically stated, "you guys better have kids before you get too old." Funny, it never ocurred to me to have kids. Life was very comfortable and running smooth. So, at 35 years of age we were blessed by our first child, Larisa Lourdes (Larisa=the laughter in Spanish/Lourdes is a name we liked when we spent a month in France the summer before. In 2008, we were blessed with a son, Tobias Adrian. Tobias is a biblical name from the book of Tobin. I am in no way a religious person, I just fell in love with the name while in Europe. When I did a little research on the name, I learned that the book of Tobin is the only Old Testament love story. Also, the Verrochio painting of Tobin in the Vatican is really cool. Hence, we decided to give him the name, Tobias Adrian Pulido. It sounds really cool in Italian and Spanish. As of late, I have been running up a storm. I made my own bucket list several years ago, and next on the list is running a marathon. I've run a couple half marathon's which were quite a high. I'm hoping to make early 2009 my marathon year. If you have any advice please share it with me. I'm starting to lose focus after 10 miles. There are only so many 80's hits that can keep you going. :) Finally, I'd love to hear from anyone. Drop me an e-mail. I'd love to hear what happened to Stephen Kraewic. If you know anything about him let me know. Pura Vida is a the greeting in Costa Rica. So, Pura Vida, Martin
