Marvell's Story
Life
Hello to all. I have lots to share, but only limited time to share it. A couple years following high school, I moved to beautiful Hawaii. I lived there for four years. My stay there was great. I learned much and grow lots. I attended University of Hawaii, before transfering to Georgia State University in Atlanta Georgia. Life in Georgia has been great, but not without its share of challenges. My life consist of Church, School, Work, Volunteering, and spending time with family. Overall, I'm thankful for how my life is going. If you've lived longer than a day you realize that with the good there will be some bad times. Stay encouraged, there's victory in Jesus Christ. Don't let life get the best of you surrender your will to his will and his way. Prayer changes things. I'm a witness.
School
Memories of High School! I enjoyed being able to move in and out of different clicks. I enjoyed hanging out with guys who shared the same interest I did. As many of you know I enjoyed racing BMX bikes and could catch me riding around town on my bike. I remember being the class clown and not getting the most out of HS. It is a wonder that I graduated College not once, but three times (AA/BA/BSW). I really enjoyed my 9th grade math teacher. I can't remember her name, but remember being very inspired and encouraged by her. In looking back, I wish that I had applied myself more in high school. Nevertheless, it would appear that I learned lots about life and the importance of a good education along the way. I love life, love meeting new people, and love making a difference in the lives of others. That's my story, what's yours? Drop me a line. I would love to hear from you.

ed an A & B letter grade. I was so encouraged by how well I did, I decided to keep it up. I was blessed with the opportunity to attend school at the University of Hawaii, in Hilo Hawaii. Following Hawaii, I transferred on a Student enchange program to Atlanta, Georgia. I would complete two undergraduate degrees. One degree was in Psychology and the other in Social Work. I was accepted to the University of Georgia for Graduate school. My major in grad school was Social Work. I plan to one day pursue my Ph.D, so watch out next time you see me it may be Doctor Broom. I am encouraged and believe that I will complete my Ph.D in education. Smile! Keep the faith and trust that all things are possible through Christ my Lord.
Workplace
I'm currently working in the field of information technology and Social Work. Two totally different career fields that I'm enjoying equally as much.
I've worked in IT for the past 15years as a professional, while completing two undergraduate degrees in Community Psychology and Social Work and later pursued a Master Degree in Social Work. I believe that I've choosen the career fields that I will enjoy doing for the rest of my life. Update as of 10-19-07, I am currently working a contract with a private foster care agency as the Coordinator of Licensing, Training, and Recruitment. In short, I recruit, train, and license foster homes. The only Information Techology (IT) stuff I've been doing lately is simple desk top support for friends and family. I also own an IT business that I've not taking the time to help grow. Nevertheless, I'm feeling a positive shift on the horizon. I plan to develop a website to generate more business. The business will focus on building computer systems by using the state of the art automation software and home and business networking. More updates will soon follow.
