Mary's Story

I am a medical transcriptionist and work from home which is great! I have two sons (Josh, 19, and Eric, 16), one stepson (Ken, 22), and one daughter (Kyesha, 5). Oh, and my cat, Fluffy, who thinks he's a dog...lol I grew up in Lancaster, but had to leave in the middle of 10th grade because of my parents getting job transfers in Ashland, KY and been here since. I miss a lot of the friends that I grew up with and wish I could have graduated with them, but at the same time made new and wonderful friends here in Kentucky. My best friend, Cynda (Amos), who grew up in Lancaster with me ended up moving to Ashland over 15 years ago and married my ex-husband's best friend. She is still here as well. If you'd like to catch up with us we are both on myspace. My myspace page name is friendlyfemale01. My favorite way to relax is to hang with my friends, watch a good movie, or play Zuma. My inspirations come from my mom. She is a very strong woman! Growing up she raised me and my sisters by herself often working two jobs to take care of us. I look back now and see how hard she struggled to see that we had what we needed, and I will always respect and love her for that. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Rich Phillips, because he was my high school sweetheart. I married another high school sweetheart, John Crawford, but that marriage only lasted one year. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the upstairs bathroom and add on a walk in shower. My dream home would be a home with an in-the-ground swimming pool. My kids...whew...basically all I can say is everything I did to my mom, my kids are now doing to me...lol She warned me of that! But honestly I have great kids who talk to me about everything, even some things I just don't want to know...lol, but I love them more than anything! The teacher I would love to see again would have to be my 6th grade teacher at South School...Mr. Rice. He taught m...Expand for more
e how to sew...lol If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to family most definitely, then spend the rest on investments, my kids and can't forget Cynda and her family. To be truly happy, I would have to be living in Hawaii right by the ocean because I love the water and always wanted to go there for some reason. My current age is 37. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so completely right...lol. I have my own natural pageant business for 3 years now and try to hold a beauty pageant every month if possible. My daughter also has done natural pageants since she was 5 months old. This has helped her have so much confidence and absolutely no fear of getting in front of large crowds at all...she loves the attention! My best friend would tell you I'm crazy funny, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as too blunt. I am so stuck in the 80s it isn't funny. I still use Aqua Net hairspray on occasion, but got rid of the "big hair" thank God. However, I still like the tight pants around the ankles...flares just don't do it for me at all...lol In 10 years, I hope to have my house paid for. I'm going to get there by working, working, working...lol. My oldest friend is Cynda Amos. We met when we were 5 years old and have been best friends since. She has always been there for me and supported me in everything I have done even if it wasn't the best decision. What would probably surprise everyone at my high school reunion is that I "came out of the closet" so to say and let my family know about 12 years ago that I am attracted to black men and have been since. I knew when I was about 12 or 13 years old, but where I grew up I wasn't sure how people would react so I kept it a secret. My first job was at Dairy Queen, where I got paid who knows to work. What I remember most about it is I was 15 and got fired for not memorizing all the prices..stupid reason I thought.
