Mary's Story
After I graduated DC, I traveled a bit, then went to ARC. I got married to Carlos Rodriguez in 1980 and moved to Puerto Rico.
Our twin daughters were born there in February 1983. We returned to the Sacramento area in November of that year. In 1987 and 1989, we were blessed with 2 more daughters.
Shortly after our 4th daughter was born in '89, our then 19 month old had a near drowning accident, which left her with CP. She is now 20 and doing very well for her condition.
In 2001, Carlos was diagnosed with Leukemia, and did well until the fall of 2003. He unfortunately became very ill, and passed away on Christmas day of 2003.
I remarried in September of 2005, and now have a 12 y/o step...Expand for more
daughter who lives with us.
In August of 2006, we moved to Oregon, and now live in the beautiful Willamette Valley. We have 4 acres, a horse, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and about 20 chickens. We get fresh eggs every day!
On December 11, 2005, my daughter Raquel (twin #2) blessed me with a beautiful granddaughter, Carly Aurora. She was named Carly in memory of Carlos. On October 26, 2007, she gave birth to my grandson, William Isaac. He was born on what would have been Carlos' 50th birthday. He would have been so proud!
Rebecca, my eldest daughter (twin #1), will be getting married soon, however there is not a date set as of yet.
