Mary Van Fleet:  

In Oct 2007, I had brain surgery to repair a brain anuerysm. Most people do not survive ruptured anuerysms, but I was very fortunate. For the past year and half, I have struggled to get my life back. I go to physical therapy 3x's a week to work on my walking, my speech has almost returned to normal, but I have problems with short term memory. Other than that, I am healthy as a horse. I have been married to Rodger Van Fleet ('72) for almost 36 years! We have been very fortunate. We have 3 grown children. Our oldest, Mark, is married living in Denver with 3 children. Mark graduated from San Francisco State University and works in the medical device & technology field. Sara, our second child, is married and lives in Orange County. She graduated from USC and works for a medical laser firm in sales. She is expecting her first child (a girl) in April 2009. And our youngest, Rachel, graduated from Southeast Missouri State in 2005 and received her Master's in Education from Fontbonne University in Dec. 2008.
