Mary's Story
This is taken shortly after I remarried in 1990 in Houston, Tx.
Sure wished I looked like that now. ACtually it was taken in 2005. I remarried in 1990. Time passes, we grow older but a lot wiser and our hearts never grow old. So I may look older now but my spirit is still very young.
In 2004 I started a homebased nutritional business with a company called Xango. It has to do with a fruit out of SE Asia. Going great. It helps people with inflammation problems. It has helped me tremendously.
We moved to Schulenburg and bought an old 1900's house with two acres and ranch land all around us. A donkey named Bruno came with the property. He is spoiled to say the least.
Loves watermelon, bananas, cantelope and fruits of all kinds. Plus dog food. We have chickens, turkeys, 3 roosters, guineas, ducks and geese.
Two cats and 2 dogs. We added on to our house and hope to have it finished soon and then after the first of the year we will renovate our kitchen and bath rooms. A little at a time. We are also involved in Christ the king Church in Hallettsville, Tx. and love it.
Dan and I have been to Thailand in 2001 on a missions trip to the Akah Childrens development ctr to build an
education ctr. Then we have been to the interior of Mexico also for Missions trips. Very exciting trips. WE hope to go to India this next year the Lord providing....Expand for more
Dan's grandson Ethan passed away two years ago with Leukemia and a granddaughter with cancerous tumor in her throat. Didn't know she had it until she died. they were both eight years old. Very sad but they are with Jesus now.
Together we have 15 living grandchildren. What a blessing of the Lord.
I was a loner except for a few special friends and did not go to the parties and entertainment things most of the kids went to. WE were not allowed. Our entertainment was pretty much in church. Which I am glad about. I remember a lot of the students but some I do not. I would like to meet and exchange thoughts on school tho.
I am the youngest of ten children. I have a twin brother Harry Boland. He was in the band. Played a slidding trombone. He still has his instrument. He also played the piano. I was not good in that except I was in choir in High school. Were any of you in choir?
We were a very musical family and had fellowship in our home all the time.
We lived on a farm on Rodd Field Rd.
The railroad tracks on Holly Rd. was right before our house on the right. After mom and dad passed away it was sold and moved; Now a church owns it.
It is different now withall the buildings and hosp. on the corner of SPID and Rodd Field. I remember we had to walk a mile to catch the city bus to go to town. Not often tho.
I cannot think of much more.
