Mary's Story
Well I married my first and only love; Charles L. Adkins, from Chapmanville, West Virginia. We meet in September 1957 and were together till his death in March 1989.
My son was born in 1964 and I lived the life of a homemaker in Nashville. In 1972 we bought a house on 17 acres in Maury County, Theta Community, outside of Columbia TN. olumbia (15) years running sewing machines. The company went out of business in 1992 and I was 46 yrs. old. So I went on the JTPA PROGRAM and start Columbia Community College (14 months) and took classes in Computer.
Well I worked at other factories, took care of my Dad and Stepmother, and retired. I still live a quiet life, help friends when I can. I tried sitting with people in their home. I write articles for the local Newspapers on The Family and Community Education Club activities.
